Q: What is Gallery wrapping?

A: Gallery wrapping is where the canvas is gently stretched on all four sides and wrapped around the edges. Each print is then hand finished with each corner being carefully folded and tucked in to ensure that there are no unsightly edges. The canvas is fixed to the back of the frame all the way around and finished off neatly to hide all of the fixings. Finally stretching wedges are placed into all four corners to ensure the canvas is a tight as possible on the frame

Q: What stretcher bars do you use?

A: The canvases are made using Museum Quality Artists Stretcher bars which are made of the finest quality kiln dried wood, which has the advantage of being very light, hard wearing and not prone to warping like standard pine. Each bar has a rounded back edge which ensures that the canvas is always kept half an inch (13mm) above the stretcher bar to prevent ghost impressions on the canvas

Q: What size stretcher bars do you use?

A: Standard 0.75" (19mm) bars are used for 12x8", 12x12" canvases.
Gallery 1.5" (38mm) bars are used for 12x16" 12x18" 14x30" 20x20" 24x16" 20x30" and 30x30" canvases.

Q: Are the prints and canvases signed ?

A: All flower prints and canvases are signed by Ruth Batten.

Q: Will I see the image on the sides of the canvas frame?

A: There is a choice between a mirrored edge which means you will get the full image at the front of the canvas and the edge mirrored around the sides.

Or you can opt for a white edge.

There maybe a slight overlapping around the edges of the frame

Q: How do I care for my print or canvas?

A: To maintain and increase the lifespan of your canvas or print, do not expose to continuous strong sunlight or moisture. Do not clean the canvas with a wet/damp cloth; a light vacuum with the brush attachment will get rid of any dust on the surface.

Q: Will the colours I see on screen be the same as on the finished canvas or print?

A: There maybe a slight colour variation as individual monitor settings can vary.

Q: Is the product ready to hang?

A: All canvases come with hanging kits which incorporates a cut-out which allows the print to be hung on a standard 2 pin picture hook.

Using these hangers ensures that the finished print is pulled flush to the wall.

Framed images ready to hang with D rings and Nylon cord. Mainly used for framed portrait images.

All Flower and Garden images will come ready to hang with hooks and most sizes have strut backs.

Q: What frames do you have?

A: This selection of frames is used for portraits, and includes the matt black, matt white, brushed gold, silver and natural wood colours. A slightly wider frame and mount will be used to complement the larger size images. All frame mouldings are made from wood with various finishes.

Brushed Gold - 55mm, 38mm and 25mm
Silver - 50mm and 28mm
Matt White - 40mm and 30mm
Matt Black - 60mm, 40mm and 30mm
Natural, Walnut and Dark Brown - 40mm and 30mm.

The sizes listed are the actual frame width.

This selection of frames is available for Portraits and is used in all Garden, Flower and Orchid images.

Matt Black-20mm
Silver-20mm
Gold-20mm
Soild Birch-20mm

Q: Do you use plastic glass or traditional glass?

A: I use plastic glass instead of traditional glass as it is unbreakable, which prevents damage. Glass can be used for portraits as the client will collect the frames. Standard or non-reflective glass can be used for your glazing.

Q: What is a 3x Vertical split canvas ?

A: This is where the whole image is printed onto 3 separate canvases. For the 3x vertical split canvas you will get 3 separate canvases, each one is 14"x30" (36x76cm), the whole image size will be 42x30" (107x76 cms).

You can see a simulation of this type of canvas on the right of the page.

Q: What is a 4 Tile canvas ?

A: This is where the whole image is printed onto 4 separate canvases. For the 4 tile canvas you will get 4 separate canvases, each is 20"x20" (51x51 cms), the whole image size will be 40"x40" (100x100 cms).

You can see a simulation of this type of canvas on the right of the page.

Q: Can I order more prints from my portrait session?

A: Yes, please see the portraits price list.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my goods?

A: Once you have placed your order it will take between 10-14 days.

Q: Do you have a returns policy?

A: Due to the bespoke status of these artworks, items that are delivered as described and in good condition may not be returned.

Where goods are sent by courier and are damaged I must be notified within two days of delivery.

Claims will only be settled after the faulty goods have been returned with the nature of the fault clearly stated. Any goods returned incomplete, i.e. with packaging, accessories missing etc, will not be replaced or credited.

Q: Do you deliver to countries outside the UK?
